Wake-On-WAN for LANDesk

 

MarXtar Wake-On-WAN™ extends Wake-On-LAN functionality beyond the confines of the local subnet by leveraging LANDesk's managed devices.  Wake-On-LAN (WoL) becomes Wake-On-WAN (WoW) dramatically increasing the reliability of your out-of-hours maintenance schedules.

Wake-On-WAN Professional Edition takes LANDesk to the next level by enabling Wake-Up, Shutdown, and Wake-On-WAN Task Scheduling/Sequencing.  With this enhanced capability LANDesk Administrators can use Wake-On-LAN for activities where it was never possible before.

What's New in this Release?

• Integration with State Notifier
  • Detect when systems have been woken using State Notifier State Updates
    • Deal with DNS, updated IP and personal firewalls
  • Only shutdown devices that were woken by WoW
    • Avoid data loss by only shutting down machines that were not running at the time the wake task was launched (optional setting)
  802.1x Support
  • Offline devices moved to other subnets can be woken by WoW requests directed to these VLANs
• Duplicate IP Removal
  • Older inventory records still registered with an IP that has now been allocated to a different device will have the IP data removed
  • WoW still can wake these devices as a record of the old IP is stored for use by WoW
• Registry Credential Encryption

MarXtar Wake-On-WAN™ provides full functionality during the trial period and can be activated by purchasing a license key.  After the trial period, MarXtar Wake-On-WAN™ continues to allow Wake-On-WAN functionality for individual machines but will no longer allow the creation of Scheduled Tasks.
